St. Ambrose Council 12576
Date – May 1, 2024.
Grand Knight Steve Deporter called the meeting to order at 6:30.
The meeting started with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Previous meeting minutes (Boyd) –approved by Dave and Larry.
Treasurers’ report (Pete) – $23,565.62 – approved by Larry and Jeff
Financial Secretary’s report (Brent) – 90 members – approved by Steve and Larry.
Meeting discussion items –
Taco supper – Larry reported we made a little over $300 profit on the Taco supper. Dan suggested that we need more advertisement for events and perhaps keep a file or binder on dates and profits. It was suggested that a Marketing committee with Dan and Jeff be formed. Approved by Steve and Larry.
Steve is working on a K of C recruitment display board.
Larry will make sure that $25 cash will be given to servers.
Steve will be in charge of donuts and coffee at Ambrose in May.
St. Ambrose K of C started 25 years ago in 1999. Larry is working on a 25-year anniversary party.
Greg updated information on the Steubenville Program. It meets in Springfield, Missouri July 5 to 7. They have raised most of the money. K of C donated $1200 last month. Envelopes are by the doors at St. Ambrose and St. Pat’s if people want to donate.
Golf outing update – Larry reported they have 25 teams with room for 9 more. For more info go to guyrandazzogolf.com.
Dan’s request to donate $250 to the Make a Wish program was approved by the group.
Dan pointed out K of C usually donates $250 to the State Convention. A motion for the donation was approved by Larry and Greg.
On page 3 of the digital copy of Columbia Magazine there was an article about our K of C Council helping to provide breakfast at the Armory for the National Guard.
Father Gary mentioned several issues that affect St. Ambrose and St. Pat’s will be discussed at the May 18th mass.
