Date – Oct. 5, 2022 – minutes of meeting
Grand Knight (Dan DePorter) called the meeting to order at 6:30. Meeting started with a prayer
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes of previous meeting – approved by group
Treasurers’ report – present funds – $28,653.65 in account
Business items:
St. Ambrose K of C donated $525 to Jordan retreat at St. Patrick’s
Father mentioned an article from the Columbia magazine where a famous baseball player discussed why
he became a Knight.
Brent reported on financial security – no bills due!
On Oct. 8 the March to Emmaus will take place. It will go from the Cathedral at Davenport to St. Mary’s
in Moline. The March will cover 5 miles involving outdoor altars in various locations, two Bishops and
will cross the Government Bridge. You can participate in part of the March or all of it.
Jerry F. mentioned the Father Bader assembly is having a cookout at St. Pius in Farrell Hall this Thursday
night
Jerry F. as part of the Safety and Health Committee discussed the need for defibrillators at both St.
Ambrose and St. Patrick’s. Jerry made a motion to purchase 2 defibrillators. Steve Deporter 2 nd the
motion. Volunteers will need to be trained.
Motion by Steve and 2 nd by Jerry to donate $500 to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Annual Diocesan Appeal – request for money, discussed and tabled.
Columbus Day Sunday Mass on Oct. 9 need helpers, gift bearers, etc. to help with mass.
Cursillo golf outing on Oct. 9 in Cambridge.
Ceremony planned for various K of C degrees in January.
Dick still has Tootsie rolls! If you need some let him know!
Trunk or treat – Oct. 29.
St. Patrick’s Bonfire on Oct. 30.
Dan in charge of Basket Raffle in Dec. – Dec. 10 evening after 5 pm mass, Dan and Larry.
Larry reported golf brought in $16,437.81 in profits.
Bill for $476 for ad in Bulletin. Larry approved payment and Jerry 2 nd .
