Date – April 5, 2023 – minutes of meeting                                                                                                                                           Grand Knight Dan Deporter called the meeting to order at 6:45.                                                                                             The meeting started with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of previous meeting – approved by Doc, 2nd by Jerry.

Treasurers’ report (Pete) – present funds – $23,199.08.   Approved by Dick, 2nd by Larry.

Financial Secretary’s report (Brent) – reported 88 members.  Only a few members are left to pay dues.  No outstanding bills.  Approved by Tom, 2nd by Steve.

Meeting discussion items –

Taco dinner profits were $822.  Profits from pancake breakfast were $411.  The breakfast had competition from 2 other events.  Larry will investigate a Blackstone grill for cooking eggs.

Jerry Fowler reported that there were 30 members at the 4th degree Geneseo meeting.  Jerry reminded our council that 4th degree members can borrow $500 for the Honor Guard uniforms and pay it back.

Larry is the team leader for the 1st, 2nd and 3d degrees process.  Tom will help with food and drinks.  The team will meet on April 23 after 12:30 mass and be set up by 2:00.

Steve reported that there is still good coverage for the rosaries.

There was a discussion over the disposal of old 1st degree robes.

Tom Verschoore’s son’s landscaping project is ongoing.  He will landscape around the US flagpole and the Vatican flagpole as an Eagle Scout project. The ½ beef Tom is donating will be ready in the fall.

Dale reported that the donuts and coffee at St. Ambrose after the 8:00 Mass is going well.  The cost is approx. $30.  A motion for K of C council to pay for the costs was made by Larry and 2nd by Jerry.

Automated external defibrillators are in.  Jerry said that one will be in St. Ambrose Church and the other in the community center.  An anonymous donor is paying for one at St. Patrick’s.

The motion for K of C to have roses for Mother’s Day was made by Tom and 2nd by Steve.

Greg reported on a Student Youth Conference trip in July.

Larry gave June 17 as the date for the golf outing.

There will be a blood drive for Jordan on April 10 at Ferrell Hall.  There also will be an Italian Dinner at Ferrell Hall on April 22.

*** At the K of C meeting on May 3, Dave will do a presentation on his upcoming mission in Cambodia.  This way Dave can provide more information on the mission.  This will be a dinner meeting and will start at 5:45.
