Date – March 1, 2023 – minutes of meeting                                                                                                                                           Grand Knight Dan Deporter called the meeting to order at 6:30.                                                                                             Meeting started with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of previous meeting – approved by group.

Treasurers’ report– present funds – $20,543.29.   Approved by group.  Pete reported $300 was sent to Rachel’s Vineyard.        Brent reported 86 members and 20+ associates.   13 members missing dues.

Meeting discussion items –

Jerry Fowler reported that 4th degree members can borrow $500 for the uniforms and pay it back.

Larry will oversee the degree team for 1st, 2nd and 3d degrees.  The team will meet on 3/8 (Wed. Night) at the Community Center at 6:30 and discuss plans for a hybrid course.

Father Joe discussed Harrison Butker, who is an American football placekicker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. Butker is also known for his deep religious faith, which has been evident throughout his career.  He is a devoted Roman Catholic.

Steve reported that there is good coverage for the rosaries.

Tom Verschoore’s son (Jonah) will do landscaping around the flagpole as an Eagle Scout project. He is putting together a price for the project.  The ½ beef Tom is donating will be ready in the fall.

There will probably be a nuts and candy drive in the future.

Women’s Cursillo – March 23 – 26.

Dale and Jeff reported that the donuts and coffee at St. Ambrose after the 8:00 Mass went well.

Steve and Larry will oversee the Taco dinner on Sat. night.  They will need help setting up tables.

Jeff found information on CDs to invest some of the K of C’s money to earn interest money.  Discussion over how much money would be needed for normal expenses.

Craig made a motion that the Knights donate $500 to Dave’s mission in Cambodia. Father Joe suggested that Dave do a presentation.  Dave could provide more information on the mission.

Automated external defibrillators bid is in.  Jerry said that it was approved.

Steve DePorter discussed having Poole Welding make 4 metal signs that are 4 by 4 foot with double sides for advertising events.  Price would be $3200 to $3400.

Steve and John made a motion to donate $500 to the Walk for Life.  Registration is at 8:30 on May 13.

Bob needs help moving 2 altars at 9:0 on Sat., March 18.

Rummage sale at 9:00 on Sat. 3/18.

Preston mentioned the continued discussion over donation to St. Jude’s in Jim’s name.
